Gratitude Journal

Last updated: June 9, 2026

This policy explains how the Gratitude Journal Android app (package net.inettools.gratitudejournal, Russian name «Дневник благодарности») handles data when you keep a local gratitude diary.

Developer and Contact

The app is published by InetTools. For privacy questions, contact us at support@inettools.net.

Purpose of the App

The app helps users save gratitude entries: three good things from the day, a person or group they want to thank, and a short note about what they want to remember. The app also shows local history, entry counters, gift counters, and a daily streak.

The app is not a medical service, psychotherapy service, or a replacement for professional advice.

Data Entered by the User

Users may enter free-form diary text: events, names, team names, personal notes, and other information at their discretion. The app also stores the selected interface theme and the current day draft.

The app does not require a name, email, phone number, address, account, payment data, contacts, or access to social networks.

Local Storage and Processing

Diary entries, the draft, and the selected theme are stored locally on the device using AsyncStorage. Counters and history are calculated inside the app on the user's device.

Gratitude entry content, names, notes, and history are not sent to InetTools, AppMetrica, or Sentry servers and are not synced between devices.

Network Access

The core diary function works locally and does not use a backend API. The INTERNET permission is used to safely open external links to Google Play, RuStore, and this privacy policy page, and to send technical AppMetrica analytics and Sentry error reports.

AppMetrica and Sentry

The app uses separate AppMetrica and Sentry projects for package net.inettools.gratitudejournal. AppMetrica may receive technical app events such as app launch, session, app version, device and operating system details, opened screens, theme changes, and the fact that an entry was saved with technical flags such as the number of filled items. Diary text is not included in those events.

Sentry may receive error reports, crash reports, diagnostic breadcrumbs, and technical details needed to fix issues. Sentry is configured without sending PII by default. The app does not send name, email, phone number, contacts, payment data, precise location, or diary content to AppMetrica or Sentry. AppMetrica is configured without location tracking, and the Android build excludes the AppMetrica advertising identifiers module. The app does not use advertising SDKs and we do not sell users' personal data.

Android Permissions

The app uses the INTERNET permission for links, analytics, and error reports. The app does not request access to contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, calendar, location, payment data, or device files.

Sharing with Third Parties

InetTools does not receive diary content and does not share it with third parties. Technical data required for analytics and diagnostics may be shared with AppMetrica/Yandex and Sentry.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local diary entries, the draft, and theme preference are kept until the user deletes them through the clear journal button, Android system settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Technical analytics and diagnostic records sent to AppMetrica and Sentry are retained only for app operation, security, analytics, and crash diagnostics. InetTools keeps any exported raw analytics or diagnostic files outside those services for no longer than 90 days, unless a longer period is required to investigate abuse, security incidents, legal obligations, or a user support request. Aggregated statistics that do not identify a user may be kept longer.

Users may contact support@inettools.net to request deletion of analytics or diagnostic records associated with their device where technically possible. Because diary content is not uploaded to InetTools servers, no separate deletion of server copies of entries is required.

Children

The app is not specifically intended for children and does not provide registration, user content publishing, in-app purchases, or communication between users.

Policy Changes

We may update this policy when the app, analytics, diagnostics, network features, or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
